Katrina Kaif newly hot star ready 'to make new pairs'

March 13, 2008 (Celebmagic.blogspot.com) - Katrina Kaif's rise to stardom may have been aided by stars such as Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar but that was probably because her talent and charm were as evident to them as they are to her fans and the rest of the industry.

After four back to back hits in 2007 Katrina now has three promising big banner films lined up for release in the days ahead - Race (Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha Basu, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor and Sameera Reddy), Yuvraj (Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Zayed Khan, Boman Irani and Mithun Chakraborty) and Singh is Kinng (Akshay Kumar, Om Puri, Kiron Kher, Javed Jaffrey, Neha Dhupia and Sonu Sood)

Katrina is now ready for primetime, something that is evident from the readiness with which filmmakers are signing her up and the paycheck (Rs 3 Crore) that she is commanding.

Katrina readily acknowledges the role of stars like Akshay and Salman in her success but says she is now ready to move on.

"I want to make new pairs too. I'm open to new things and want to keep reinventing," she says.

The 22-year-old actress is thrilled to be working with the Yash Raj banner in a film to be directed by Kabir Khan that also features John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh.

"Adi's films are different, they have a Yashraj sensibility to them. They are made in a particular way that blends Indian sensibilities with modern ethos and that is what I find appealing. And I'm still very young and want to do all youthful roles," Katrina says.
