Aki’s success story 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa '
With three consecutive hits in a single year, who can be happier at the moment than our very own Akshay Kumar?! His success story needs no introduction coz’ after “Namaste London”and “Hey Baby”, its time to celebrate yet again as his latest flick “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” has been declared a hit too.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa is a story of a couple (played by Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja) who settle in their ancestral haveli which is supposedly haunted. In comes Akshay, to free the house from all evil spirits. Though this Priyadarshan film has a typical style of comedy with known faces like Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Asrani, Akshay is surely the perkiest of the lot.
The songs of this much speculative film have a mass appeal. In fact they have not only topped the Indian charts but also found the no. 7 place in the U.K. top 10 chartbusters. In the first two days alone, this film has done a business of more than 6 crore rupees outside India?!
Though aki admits to work hard and not think about giving a hit or a flop, his success story this year has given him and all his fans a reason to rejoice!
Akshay Kumar is well-known for his pranks on the sets. So, it is no wonder that Vidya Balan and Amisha Patel fell prey to him on the sets of comedy-horror film “Bhool Bhulaiya” in Jaipur.
It so happened that one day Akshay arrived on the sets with a man carrying a handycam. The man used to shoot Akshay all the time and talked a lot to him. This went on for about 4-5 days. Finally, Akshay introduced the man to his co stars as a reporter with a reputed television channel and requested that the leading ladies give him interviews. Vidya and Amisha promptly obliged and gave a warm interview giving details about the film, their roles and careers.
As soon as the interviews were over, the man went up to Akshay and the two started laughing aloud. That’s when Akshay disclosed that the man was not a reporter but his physical trainer. Next, the girls were fuming and everyone else was having a hearty laugh. The only one who didn’t fall for Akki’s prank was Shiney Ahuja, since he knew well that the man was Akshay’s physical trainer.
Neetu Chandra and Abhay Deol - Two and Two add up to Four
Now this is news guys. A very unlikely filmi pair has been spotted together. Abhay Deol and Neetu Chandra have not yet worked together in any film. Yet, they were spotted together catching up a movie recently.
Media and gossip columns, which leave no stones unturned, are linking the two together. The basic matter is that Abhay and Neetu went together to watch ‘Resident Evil: Extinction’ together.
Neetu was reportedly spotted walking in with Abhay at a theatre in Mumbai. But after entering the theatre, they separated and maintained some distance so as not to be seen together. Neetu bought the tickets while Abhay waited for her and later followed her as she entered the auditorium.
Neetu, however, refuses that anything is brewing between her and Abhay. She says she had gone to see the movie with a couple of friends when she coincidentally bumped into Abhay at the theatre.
This is Bollywood Neetu. Here it takes no time to add up two and two to make it four!!
Abhishek Bachchan and Vivek Oberoi together in ‘Mission Istanbul’
Apoorva Lakhia’s ‘Mission Istanbul’ has done it at last. It will bring Beautiful Aishwarya’s husband, Abhishek Bachchan, and ex-lover, Vivek Oberoi, together, and producer Suniel Shetty says that neither has any problems with it.
“Why should they have any problem? Abhishek is a thorough professional. He has no problem with anybody. And weren’t they both part of Shootout At Lokhandwala? Yes, they do have scenes together in Mission Istanbul. And I’m sure they’ll do them splendidly. It’s very unfair to bring in personal matters and question their professionalism. Neither Abhishek nor Viveik have expressed any misgivings about working together,” Shetty said.
The vast star cast of this ambitious venture includes Bobby Deol, Viveik, Abhishek, Shabbir Ahluwaliah and Tusshar Kapoor. For the leading ladies of the film, Suniel says, “They’re integral to the action. I need ladies who can kick ass as effectively as the boys.”
Suniel Shetty has high expectations regarding the technical standard of the film. “We can no longer get away with sub-standard spectacles. Guys who shot Dhoom or the forthcoming Cash have brought an unparalleled expertise to our cinema. In both forthcoming projects Mission Istanbul and ‘Raaste’ with Abhishek, Aishwarya, John and Sikandar Kher, I’m getting top notch technicians associated with the best of Hollywood cinema. We’re spending Rs.250 million on Mission Istanbul and ready to spend more. I trust my director Apoorva Lakhia completely,” he said.
Salman Khan - Madame Tassauds not for me
Salman Khan will always remain the same: Unpredictable, unconventional, stubborn and as always popular. The actor got the honour of being the fourth Indian Actor to be featured at the Madame Tussuads Wax Museum in London, but the actor has done what could be least expected of anyone. He refused to have his wax statue at Madame Tussauds, London. Before Salman, only Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan, among all other Bollywood stars, have got this honour.
Salman who is currently shooting in Austria for Subhash Ghai’s forthcoming film ‘Yuvraj’ is not available for comment. However his business manager, Vikas Kapoor, has confirmed the news saying, “Yes, Salman has refused the Madame Tussuads offer. He does not want his wax statue to be displayed at the Madame Tussauds as he is not interested in it. Though it is considered as a big honour for people who are selected for Madame Tussuads, Salman considers his fan following as his biggest honour”.
Shahrukh khan cheers for the Indian cricket team
The India-Pakistan Twenty-20 finals in Johannesburg, South Africa, took the entire crowd in ecstasy, but one Indian supporter in the VIP stands who kept the camera flashing was superstar Shahrukh Khan along with his son Aryan. SRK, wearing a black suit, constantly clapped when a dot ball was bowled from the Indian side and stood from his seat in joy whenever a Pakistani wicket fell. He even took turns with his son to wave the Indian flag from the stands.
Shahrukh has oft and on shown his patriotism on-screen with movies like Swades, Veer-Zaara, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Dil Se, Pardes and the recent one, Chak De! India. And most appropriately, the DJ played a few lines of the song Chak De…Chak De India from SRK’s recent release Chak De India, when Sohail Tanvir’s wicket fell.
Later, after the victory, SRK went to congratulate the players on the field. He hugged each player individually. Harbhajan Singh, who was completely ecstatic, lifted SRK up when the superstar hugged him.
SRK was heard saying to his son: “They (the Indian players) are the true superstars”. That was one quote from a superstar for other superstars.
Congratulations India and specially MS Dhoni .
